The Advisory Board recently conducted a study asking people what’s most important to them when deciding where to get care. Here’s what they discovered and how Sherpaa solves these problems for you.
#1: I can walk in without an appointment and I’m guaranteed to be seen in 30 minutes.
There’s no need for an appointment with Sherpaa. Just launch the app, create a concern, and within, on average 12 minutes, your Sherpaa doctor starts working with you. Appointments are inconvenient and scheduling is annoying. That’s why we don’t like them.
#2: If I need lab tests or x-rays, I can get them done at the clinic instead of going to another location.
Sherpaa doctors need to confirm their suspicions with lab or imaging tests about 25% of the time. This means we’ll order the tests within our app, you’ll go to your local Quest, LabCorp, or imaging center to get the tests done, and soon after you’ll see your results in the app. That means you don’t have to worry about where you get tests done 75% of the time.
#3: The provider is in-network for my insurer.
Sherpaa is offered at no cost to employees and health plans that contract with Sherpaa to care for their people. See if you’re eligible. If you are not eligible, Sherpaa is either $99 for 30 days of care or $270 for one year of unlimited care. If you haven’t yet spent your deductible (and 90% of people won’t), you’re paying out of pocket for everything anyway, no matter if it’s in or out of network. And most PCP visits cost ~$200 per visit including co-pays and bills you’ll receive.

#5: The clinic is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Appointments are so last century. Just send us a message within our app and, if you call us, you’re immediately connected to your doctor. If you message with us, we respond within 12 minutes.
#7: The provider explains possible causes of my illness and helps me plan ways to stay healthy in the future.
When you see a doctor in an office, good doctors will talk with you and help you understand your illness. But research suggests people forget 85% of what their doctor says to them. With Sherpaa, your conversations with your doctors are mostly messaging, educational content within the app, and links to the best resources out there on the internet to help you understand. You also see your test results and reports from any specialists we refer you to. And if something is unclear, just send us your question. We strive for 100% information retention, rather than the traditional 15%.
#8: Each time I visit the clinic, the same provider will treat me.
You will work with the same Sherpaa doctor 90% of the time. Our platform routes your messages, test results, etc to your same doctor. However, they have lives too and need some time off, so 10% of the time you’ll work with one of the other 5 doctors on your team. However, since you’re mostly messaging with your Sherpaa doctor, any doctor on your team can view the entire thread and understand the details of your situation.
#9: If I need a prescription, I can get it filled at the clinic instead of going to another location.
When your Sherpaa doctor prescribes your medication, you get an alert to approve your prescription and choose your pharmacy within the app. You can choose any pharmacy in America, mail-order, and even have the medication delivered to you that day. That way, even when you’re traveling or on vacation, you’re in total control.
